Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Trophy Semi Final

Pudsey Congs 236 for 7 v Whitley Hall 240 for 3

South Yorkshire Senior League Champions Whitley Hall put up a superb performance to beat Bradford League Champions Pudsey Congs by 7 wickets at the Britannia Ground. Pudsey Congs won the toss and elected to bat first. Adam Patel opened with 63, Gareth Phillips added 41 and Mohamed Naveed hit a brisk 40 to see Congs finish with 236 for 7.

In reply Whitley lost a quick wicket but then Neil Longhurst partnered Chris Siddall to add 141 for the second wicket. With Longhurst in his usual aggressive form he had smashed 12 fours and a six in reaching 92. Siddall left when he had scored 53 and Jim Tasker (55 not out) and Jaco Castle (21 not out) carried the task to completion.

Whitley maintained the 5 runs per over continually through their innings and they had 2 overs and 7 wickets to spare when victory was achieved.

Whitley now face Wrenthorpe from the Central Yorkshire League, on a date to be determined, in the Yorkshire Champions Final.
