I am pleased to announce that at last nights management meeting the committee, in the light of new evidence presented by the club admitted Rotherham Phoenix to division 4 next season.
It does cause slight problems with promotion and relegation issues especially with Dearne withdrawing from division 2. However it was thought clubs would readily accept the changes to allow Phoenix to bring in the second team.
Whiston Parish Church CC 2nd team will now move up to Division 2 with Mexborough staying in Division 3. The league are hoping that by 2013 they will have 4 Divisions of 12 teams with the bottom division being flexible.
Next season division 4 is to have two sections of 8. They will play each other home and away then have inter-section games giving teams a full program of 22 matches.
Rotherham Phoenix Chairman Richard Tong said:
"I am highly delighted that the League have reviewed their original decision. Fielding a 2nd X1 is the next step in the rebuilding and achieving its goal of returning to the Leagues higher echelons".
